These "Start Here" pages are just another way to help you navigate and find what you need.

This is a large and complicated site. There is a very large amount of helpful information here, but it can sometimes be hard to find what you want. We have three search engines, extensive cross referencing and multiple index pages for major topics; but that still may leave you confused and not knowing what to look for.

That's particularly apt to be true if you are new to Unix. Having any problem is only magnified if you are unfamiliar with common terminology and conventions. These pages attempt to give you a brief orientation and then list resources that may contain help for whatever it is you need.
