What a great idea. Daniel Bernstein assigned his students the task of searching out security flaws. Twenty five students were supposed to find 10 each, but they only managed a little more than 40 overall: http://tigger.uic.edu/~jlongs2/holes/
Most of the programs are obscure, and the flaws aren't necessarily serious, though "cups" is one where a serious flaw was discovered.
